There is a time for everything and it’s called College müssen sich die Chefs von Disneyland gedacht haben, denn am 18. und 19. August richten sie dort zum achten Mal die Bat Days aus. Das sind Tage, an denen lange weiße Gesichter und schwarze Kutten explizit erwünscht sind. Dann ist es für den gemeinen US-Waver cool und damit erlaubt den Unterhaltungspark aufzusuchen.

Bats Day in the Fun Park is the annual, unauthorized goth day at Disneyland. The eighth of these is coming up this August, and has metastasized into a weekend-long festival with a conference hotel, music, and a “black market” selling gothy stuff.

Großartige Idee. Klingt ein wenig nach dem Rummel aus “The Lost Boys”. Ist aber auch eine brillante Idee der Marketingschweinepriester. So gibt man den notorischen Nichtspaßhabern eine szenekonforme Möglichkeit ihr Geld im Park zu lassen.

Aber gemein ist dabei das Datum. Ende August in Kalifornien und dann ganz in Schwarz. Da ist vielleicht doch ein wenig Schadenfreude dabei. Und ein wenig gemaßregelt wird man dann doch. Denn die Wahl der Kleidung ist nicht komplett beliebig.
